4 of us went on a bespoke tour of Transylvania organised by Holiday to Romania and Vlad Cernaianu. We had an excellent, well informed, guide who drove us around in a spacious comfortable people carrier. Our trip was a mix of what we knew we wanted to do and what Vlad wisely recommended which proved the perfect mix. We found Romania to be the most lovely country with extensive forests and wildlife areas and charming cities – especially Sibiu and Sighisoara – and were seriously impressed by the renovation of older buildings and associated attention to detail. The cities were clean and well maintained with plenty of outdoor entertainment as well as some ‘folk’ events. The local wine was excellent and the food fine but nothing special. We thoroughly recommend Transylvania and Holiday to Romania as company to organise this for you. Vlad replied very promptly to our enquiries and communicated well to ensure we had the holiday we had hoped for.

Alex our guide was amazing. He brought Transylvania to life not the only the places we visited but information about the country, people and history. Would recommend for anyone visiting.

This tour was an amazing blend of history from decades to centuries ago. We explored several sights related to Dracula and his inspiration, Vlad the Impaler. We saw breathtaking views, beautiful churches and amazing castles. I would highly recommend touring Romania with a guide and using Holiday to Romania as much would be missed otherwise.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time on the Dracula’s Trail tour created by Holiday to Romania. It was a perfect blend of history (both of Dracula and his inspiration Vlad the Impaler), beautiful mountain scenery, breathtaking sights like the Turda salt mines and culture. We would highly recommend a guided visit as so much would be missed otherwise.

It was an amazing tour. Vlad had to work very hard at our itinerary as we were too busy to tell him what we wanted but with persistence and key questions he managed to fulfill all our plans. Vlad didn’t rest until we were comfortable with the itinerary.
It was a private tour, only my husband and I and had to ask to pay for the trip this is how satisfied I was with his services.
We were picked up and dropped off to the airport in luxury cars and everyone spoke fluent English.

My husband and I did a 6 day private tour with Holiday Romania which included a train to the most northern area and driving back seeing some of the most spectacular UNESCO Monasteries and fortresses. We go to see how locals lived and learnt so much of the history of the areas from both our separate guides. The vehicles used were quality and safe and the hotels were 4* and in great locations. I cannot praise them enough. Thank you so much for the experience.

We are incredibly grateful to our wonderful guide, Dan Cernaianu and his company Holiday to Romania, for the wide-ranging, vibrant travel program we experienced in Bucovina and Maramures. His vast knowledge enabled him to answer all our questions, and the itinerary was crafted in a way that allowed us to gain a comprehensive understanding of both the nation’s cultural and historic sites, as well as its current events and lifestyle. We were able to appreciate the gorgeous autumn views of the Carpathians up close as we took a ride on a logging train with a steam locomotive. During our few days spent with a Romanian family, we were welcomed warmly and gained a firsthand experience of the everyday life of Romanians, the traditional food, and the melodic music. We have just come back from a memorable week in Romania. This was all wonderfully organised by Holiday to Romania and we had a private guide who drove us throughout the trip. Everything was arranged beforehand – the hotels, the itinerary and our personal guide. This made it a very memorable experience. Our guide, Eddie was excellent, informative, intelligent and always helpful. We saw Bucharest, the Black Sea, the Danube Delta, Bucovina and the wonderful painted monasteries. Also, we visited a castle and saw the Bicaz gorge with a night in Sighisoara. One of the many highlights was Transylvania – not to forget Dracula’s birthplace! A truly great trip.

We went to so many places in four days; walled cities of Sibiu and Sighisoara, ancient fortified churches at Biertan and Viscei, beautiful city of Brasov, Libearty Bear Sanctuary, Peles Castle, Bran Castle, Therme Spa, all guided and looked after by our lovely guide Adrian. Such a treat to have our own driver and guide – we learned so much of the history and culture of Romania.

An incredible experience over 3 short days, historic town walks, castle tours, snow capped mountains, scenic views over 1100km trip expertly driven by our very knowledgeable and easy to understand Guide Adrian. I took a toor from Brasov to Sighisoara ,mediveal city , which I highly recomend .Besides We took another toir from Bucarest to Peles ,Bran and Bears in the wild on the same day .In all cases the driver guides offered by Holiday to romania were excellent professionals .Our first experience with the Bears was unlucky since we could not spot any but they allowed us to take a second tour free of charge where we were able to spot 3 bears.My best compliments to Vlad,Cristian and Dan.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the Holiday to Romania team and my 7-day private tour of Transylvania. Visiting Romania was a lifelong dream of mine. I reached out to Vlad @ Holiday Romania asking about visiting Corvin’s Castle. After a few emails, I ended up booking a 100% personalized 4 day private tour that was more than reasonably priced. Dan, my guide, was phenomenal from start to finish. The itinerary was unique and included many things I would’ve missed out on had I tried to do this myself. We booked a custom tour of Peles and Bran castles because we had two infants in our group and thought three attractions would be too much for the little ones. Holiday To Romania arranged all tickets (except for the additional photo fee at Peles castle) and transportation for our group. Our guide (Vlad) picked us up and dropped us off in Brasov at our hotel. He offered lots of great information about each attraction and happily talked with us about Romania, its people, and its culture. Adrian was a fabulous guide, who contacted us in advance. He was able to be our guide in Peles Castle which was very much a family castle as opposed to Bran Castle. We visited on Halloween, when the castle was completely decorated which amazed our guide!! Again Adrian was really knowledgeable. Fantastic little restaurant in Bran Castle grounds, with awesome soup. Brasov was an interesting little town- Adrian took us to a lovely local restaurant he knew where we shared local food. My sister & I knew not what to expect, & were not only pleased, but thrilled by the informational scope & interest of the tour. Our tour was a long one, encompassing Bran Castle, Targoviste Royal Court, & Snagov Monastery. Though it was around 11 hours altogether, the sites were full of historical interest & beautiful art & architecture, & our guide, Dan, was phenomenal. He was full of energy & information, & he filled us in on many interesting tidbits. History, anecdotes, facts, & cultural practices were all topics of discussion, & he was so knowledgable that we were unable to stump him with our questions! If touring in Romania, this is the service to use!

Holiday to Romania organized our trip to Romania. They provided a wonderful tour guide named Alex and a very spacious van for our 11 day tour. During our trip we visited beautiful Gothic Fortified Churches, Medieval Castles, Traditional Villages, The People Parliament, museums, the countryside, and much more. Everyday we visited at least three sights. Every sight had something interesting or beautiful to see. Holiday to Romania’s program to travel the country is perfect. You are able to experience the country because you see so much. Yet, at the end you are left with the feeling of wanting to see more. My husband who booked the tour was in continuous contact with Dan. He was always very accessible and keen to making sure that we were happy. His choice of accommodations were great because we were able to stay in very nice hotels, and with Romanian run lodging homes. In these homes we were able to interact with the family and eat homemade Romanian meals. Both Dan and our guide speak English perfectly. Alex’s personality is great. He never said, no. I have 2,000 pictures in Romania almost all taken by Alex. Plus, another 1,000 he took on my husbands Iphone. A very safe driver. Just an around nice person. I am glad Dan chose Alex as our guide because he made us feel like family.

My husband and I have traveled quite extensively and have therefore had many experiences with guides and traveling on our own. We are not fans of large tours and wanted a relaxing vacation without having to do much planning on our own. We reached out to Dan and from the initial contact with him, we were very impressed and that sentiment was carried throughout our tour. Dan took our desired highlights and propose us a 12 day tour through Romania. He responded immediately to our emails, even with a 9 hour time difference. His communications were always thorough and helpful as we prepared for our trip. He also sent information to help us at the airport when we arrived. There was nothing left for us to think about as he prepared us extremely well. During the tour, Dan’s first concern was that we were having a good time. He went above and beyond expectations, was extremely accommodating, and happy to take any requests we had on the trip. I always felt safe whether it be with him behind the wheel or suggesting the best dish at a restaurant. He never steered us wrong ;). This was an excellent trip organised by Dan of Holiday to Romania. We were driven in an air conditioned car with a lovely English speaking guide. The accommodation was good and often historic building. We had meals with locals and visited many Saxon fortified churches, the wooden churches and painted monasteries and many other castles and places of interest. Nothing was too much trouble for Dan. We are in our seventies and were extremely well looked after.

We spent a week in Romania just before Christmas. We knew very little about this country but it fit into our travel plans nicely and we were hoping to see some snow at that time of the year.
I made contact with Dan and he patiently helped us put an itinerary together and organised it all.
As we arrived after a long haul flight into Bucharest we spent a day there before meeting up with him. He picked us up at the hotel and what we learned on the short drive out of Bucharest in his company, was more then we had found out the previous day which we spent wondering around on our own.
Dan’s knowledge about his home country is amazing and he will answer all questions in great detail without being boring. We traveled with our 16 year old son in tow and I often saw him and Dan engaged in some discussion. Therefore, I can recommend Dan as a guide for any traveler, families included.

My mom wanted to see the country of her birth before it became too difficult for her to travel. We made it into a family trip for 7 of us and had a great time. Dan, the driver and guide was very patient with my wheelchair bound mom and the rest of us. We were provided a very detailed 1st class general tour of Romania hitting all the major sites with plenty of time to enjoy them. There was a lot of driving in a comfortable minivan but every destination was deserving. Accommodations were charming, traditional, and in great locations. The food was outstanding at the recommended restaurants. We will come again and use this company for other travels in Romania.

We just returned from a ten day trip covering parts of Transylvania, Moldova and Walachia.
Romania has a large variety of enchanting sites and places. Fantastic scenery, lovely old towns, rural and city delights and, of course, castles.. Our plans were made with Holiday to Romania and everything from A to Z worked out beautifully. Our guide, Daniel, was the best ever. Knowledgeable, helpful, flexible and excellent driver. Dan, the managing partner of the Travel Agency, laid out the trip so we would see as much as possible. We had special requests which Daniel met with enthusiasm. Absolutely great trip. Recommend Holiday to Romania when you plan to visit this lovely country.

The tour explored different villages in the Maramures region. What you are able to see there depends on the season; (when I went there was not much farming activity) but we were able to visit the Merry Cemetery, a number of wooden churches, craftspeople, a local festival, a wedding party, scenic areas and local households. We happened to visit on a Sunday so were lucky to see some religious services and meet people dressed in their beautiful traditional clothes.
Dan was also invaluable at introducing us to some talented craftspeople in the area. With his accompaniment, we received a warm welcome everywhere we went. People were so inviting, generously showing us around their homes, sharing food and drink and even letting us try on their handmade traditional clothes. These experiences, and the great photographs I was able to take, were made possible by Dan’s rapport with the local people.

Dan is a top-notch tour guide. He was able to combine a lot of interesting history, cultural nuance and fun adventure while we toured through Romania, the medieval town of Brasov, Bran Castle, Bucovina region and Maramures
We can be demanding tourists, looking for new and different things but also seeking out the old and traditional. We were three women travelling with a 2 year old to Romania with a keen interest in visiting Transylvania. I contacted Holiday to Romania through a web search. Firstly, their response time back to me was very impressive and Dan provided a very comprehensive 4 day tour outline. We booked our trip with him and I have to say, we had the most amazing time. He has perfect English, is a very safe driver and his knowledge of the country and the sights he took us to was outstanding. Amazing nature and landscapes, a lot of castles, monasteries and cultural sites to visit. Some of them UNESCO Heritage. I strongly suggest a visit to Biertan and to Sighisoara centre to all those who love Middle Ages!

We had family trip with Dan of 3 days from Bucharest airport to Bucovina. We were with my elderly father 92 years old who has visited his childhood village in Moldova. Dan was respectful, patient, flexible, understanding and accommodating.
He gave us a professional guided tour.

In seven days we were treated to a 900 mile tour of Transylvania. Our guide, Dan was very professional; he took very good care of us. His English, which he used to impart a wealth of knowledge, was excellent and even my husband who has trouble with accents, could understand him. We got off road into small villages and saw beautiful baroque and neoclassical buildings in cities. We learned about religion and politics and the life of the people. We stayed in comfortable hotels and ate in restaurants where residents ate. All in all we were very satisfied.

We toured around Romania with Daniel, and he is an amazing guide! He knows so much about the history of Romania and its current events. He is funny as well, and my family and I enjoyed the tour with him. We went to the Parliament building as well as the Dimitrie Gusti National Village Museum. The tour van was very large and comfortable, and Daniel always recommended very good traditional Romanian food for us to try at restaurants. I would highly recommend touring Romania with Daniel and the tour company! You will not be disappointed!

Our guide, Dan, began our tour in Giurgiu, ending at our hotel in downtown Bucharest. During our one hour ride to Bucharest, Dan gave an in-depth lecture on current events affecting Romania, as well as recent history of the country, and relations with its neighbors. He also shared some sad and funny stories about growing up in post-Communist Romania. We toured the busy city, including the usual tourist stops: Village Museum and the Parliament Palace. He obviously loves his native land, but isn’t afraid (or is no longer afraid) to occasionally (and humorously) kick it in the shins. I wish we could have spent more time exploring Romania with Dan, but we had a plane to catch the next morning.

My wife was hesitant on this tour due to the name. We have traveled to several countries and have seen some great country and history but this tour really delivers on beauty of the Transylvania countryside and History. Our guide, Dan, not only looked after us but was very knowledgeable of all the areas we visited. The Castles and fortresses were magnificent. I know people have different tastes in what they like to see but in all of our travels this rates as the best vacation travel package we have ever taken. The memories will stay with us the rest of our lives. Dan became like a family member on this tour and and it was emotional and sad to have to say goodbye to him at the end. I highly recommend this tour to those who want to see the beauty of Romania’s Transylvania area and discover the legends behind Dracula.

It was a private tour with our guide, Dan and the tour experience in Maramures was great! Dan is knowledgeable & he certainly knows his way around. He is very accommodating, drives safely & has a sense of humour. An enjoyable trip with a great guide!

My husband and I had a super tour of the top 5 monasteries of Suceava in Romania . Our tour lady guide & driver was a university graduate in Law who spoke perfect English, good safe driving in a reasonable car with seat belt, very knowledgeable with the top five monasteries that we were visiting, patient , very considerate about providing us enough time for pictures taking as well as maximum viewing of the sites especially with friendly rapport with some of the residents nuns and monks which made life smoother for us while visiting. Some of the wonderful frescoes both outside and inside the monasteries were so well painted and designed even though back many years ago were all very enlightening for us all.

This trip still feels like a dream to our mom and her sister. 70 years ago they were forced to leave their home in Galati, Romania. Holiday to Romania travel arranged a spectacular trip for them, along with me, my sister and our husbands, to see their home place along with the beautiful Transylvania region.
