FIND YOUR ROOTS IN ROMANIA WITH THIS ROMANIAN GENEALOGY TOUR

TOURS FOR ADOPTED CHILDREN OF ROMANIA AND FOR PEOPLE WHO WANTS TO FIND THEIR ROOTS

Through our, Romania Find Your Roots – Genealogy Tour we help you with your family origins in Romania to discover the places where your relatives were born and lived, find and help meet current relatives and complete your genealogical family tree. However, we also will discover your ancestor’s home country visiting the most important places near the areas that we will visit.

The preparation of this type of tour is a complex one, as we are based in Romania, we are happy to help with any research preparing the tour: finding the natural ancestors to identify the actual places related to your family. We then go through extensive and detailed tour planning, to make sure the goal of your visit is achieved, and we will have success during our tour. The genealogy tour is nothing like a city tour or a cultural tour, there is nothing standard about it, and many things may change as you go. Be prepared for random situations and itinerary changes.

No matter what your story is, we will provide assistance in your effort to find more about your past by organizing the genealogy tour that will follow your specific wishes.

We understand the deep significance of such a tour for you and for your family, especially if you are an adopted kid from Romania and you want to meet and to know your natural family. A homeland tour is rewarding, although complex, based on our deep knowledge of Romania and our collaboration with the national institutions and desire to offer the best we will try to find your relatives or at least the old place of you.

The experience showed us that it never hurts to be prepared, as most journeys end up in the countryside, next to abandoned buildings, in weedy graveyards trying to find tombstones with indecipherable writing, washed away by time, in the heat or in the rain. Because is a tailor-made tour and we are going to find your family first and we will skip the touristic areas of Romania and we will go to the remote villages and towns many things will not be as you expected them to be. Some will surprise you in a pleasant way; others will strike you as odd. Some things are done in the expected European way, no more no less than in Paris, others in the quirky Eastern European way. However, the finish point of the tour is to smile near your ancestors so be open to new experiences and we are sure that everything will go to perfect.

Our Find Your Roots – Genealogy Tour is a tailor-made tour so please do not hesitate to contact us or send us an email at [email protected] with your specific inquiry.

Please excuse us if some of the questions we’ll ask you would seem useless or quite numerous, but any answer to our questions will be of help for you too, in order to the success of your our Find Your Roots – Genealogy Tour.

NOTE: Please note that the inaccurate information sometimes provided to officials by the migrants on their place of birth, misspellings generally and the passage of a century of turmoil, which saw extensive demolition, burning, and confiscation of records, state bureaucracy, and your own time constraints, no guarantees of success could be offered.  Having noted the realities of research in modern day Romania, rest assured that we would always do our best in trying to find the answers you seek.

This trip still feels like a dream to our mom and her sister. 70 years ago they were forced to leave their home in Galati, Romania. Holiday to Romania travel arranged a spectacular trip for them, along with me, my sister and our husbands, to see their home place along with the beautiful Transylvania region. From start to finish, the experience was great. Dan was very patient with our desires and needs in picking the perfect hotels and Alex was the perfect guide and driver. His energy and love for his country was quite evident as he relayed the history and stories associated with the places that we visited. His patients and caring nature shown brightly as he helped meet the needs my mom and her sister, both in their 80’s, while showing the rest of us the beauty of this country. I highly recommend Holiday to Romania for travel in Romania.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the Holiday to Romania team and my 7-day private tour of Transylvania. They customized the perfect itinerary for my interests, choosing hotels and restaurants with real local flair — not cookie-cutter international chains. One night, I slept in a centuries-old inn next door to Dracula’s birthplace! My guides, Dan and Alex, were super friendly and highly knowledgeable, they spoke excellent English, and they provided impeccable service — going above and beyond to accommodate my limited mobility during the tour. Since my grandparents were born in Romania, “Genealogy Day” was the highlight for me. Starting with very limited information, HTR was able to find and introduce me to relatives I never knew I had — even arranging a homemade lunch in a house on the exact street my grandmother lived on 100 years ago! Romania is a beautiful, fascinating and friendly country, and Holiday to Romania is the best way to experience it.
